Since the sale of Sony Online Entertainment took place around three months ago, we have come to understand that the once PC and PlayStation exclusive developer will support the Xbox One as well. However, how much revenue could the new company earn?

After the sale of SOE, the company was renamed to Daybreak Games, and the main aim of the company right now is to expand to mobile and Xbox One. This is all about achieving an increase in revenue.

President of Daybreak Games, John Smedley, revealed that making games for the Xbox One could allow the company to increase its revenue by 50 percent. That's quite a lot, but it would all boil down to whether or not Xbox One players are interested in playing the type of video games Daybreak brings to the table.

"If you just take the numbers that the console publishers themselves have put out, you are talking about a 50 percent revenue lift," says Smedley.

Smedley didn't talk about potential earnings from mobile, but we believe it could be larger than both consoles combined.

For success to happen though, Daybreak Games will have to create hit titles that will draw on the attention span of gamers. So far, the developer's latest title, H1Z1, is a mess and far from ready for primetime, so for the short term the company might have to rely on old titles such as DC Universe Online and Planetside 2.

What's important right now is that Daybreak Game is working on a new Everquest, game. The franchise is huge around the world so it could become the next big hit.

At the end of the day, we're glad that Smedley realizes that it all comes down to the games and not the platform. With this mindset, Daybreak Games could already be on the path of bringing to market great games that gamers around the world will love to play.

"It doesn't matter what platform you're on, as long as the game is good," said Smedley. "So that is what we're focused on. Now we have a little more breathing room. We can take our time to get things done right."
