Looking to get a sneak peek at the pilot episode for AMC's upcoming adaptation of comic book Preacher? You're in luck: Seth Rogen just tweeted the first image from the set of the series.

Although the image is dark and shadowed, it shows Dominic Cooper and Ian Colletti.

In the DC/Vertigo comic book series, Preacher tells us the tale of a man named Jesse Custer (Cooper), a small town Texas preacher struggling with his faith. However, everything changes when he becomes possessed by a supernatural being that brings about the death of his entire church congregation.

Genesis, the being that possesses Custer, is the result of an unholy coupling between a demon and an angel. Its insight gives Custer a new sense of right and wrong and leads him on a journey across America to find God. Thanks to Genesis, Custer also gets new powers that allow him to command others through his words.

In this image, we see not just Custer, but also a teenager known as Arseface. In the comic books, Arseface is a disfigured young man who survives suicide and goes on to become a rock star.

In the comics and on the TV series, Custer has two traveling companions, including his ex-girlfriend Tulip (Ruth Negga) and the Guinness-loving Cassidy (Joe Gilgun). A few new characters not from the comics have been announced, including Vyla Quinncannon (Elizabeth Perkins) — whose last name will be familiar to those who've read the comic book series.

The pilot episode of the Preacher series sees Seth Rogen alongside Evan Goldberg, both writing and directing. Before tweeting a photo from the set of the Preacher pilot, Rogen also tweeted the clapboard used during the shooting of the first episode.

Of course, the pilot has to pass muster with AMC before a series order comes in — but let's hope the timing is right for AMC to develop a series not based on The Walking Dead. In addition to the original The Walking Dead series, AMC will also air Fear The Walking Dead, a spin-off of the original.
