Go-karts are, by their very nature, kind of boring. They are just stripped down, kid-friendly versions of cars. They are small, in no way look cool and don't go near fast enough for most thrill seekers.

Which is exactly why one man decided to strap not one, but two giant flame-spewing engines to the back of a kart and record what would happen.

To call this extreme is an understatement. The rockets strapped to the back of this go-kart is bigger than the go-kart itself. I guess that's why creator colinfurze on YouTube dubbed it the "Jet Kart."

The name fits. As you'll see in the video below, the Jet-Kart's acceleration sequence isn't so different from a rocket blasting off into space. Lots of fire. Puffs of smoke. And no doubt a huge adrenaline rush for the driver as he zooms down the runway.

It's an impressive sight to behold, but the kart isn't going quite as fast as you might expect.

The kart maxed out at around 60 mph, though colinfurze says in the video description the top speed could be a little higher, but he had to slow down as he ran out of airstrip to drive on.

If you want to see how he made this metal monstrosity, he put together a number of behind-the-scenes videos which you can check out here. This isn't his first extreme vehicle and it likely won't be his last. For more of his work, be sure to check out his YouTube channel.
