The last thing that pro wrestling fans want to hear is that Scott Hall has gone back on the bottle.

Unfortunately, a TMZ Sports report is saying that the beloved WWE Hall of Famer was removed from a meet-and-greet session in New Jersey this past weekend because he was too drunk to work the gig.

It's a sobering blow to Hall, who has had well-documented drug- and alcohol-abuse issues for years, but had cleaned himself up working with fellow retired wrestling superstars such as Jake 'The Snake' Roberts and Diamond Dallas Page.

Organizers of the Skate and Surf Music Festival in Asbury Park, N.J., had to escort Hall out of the meet-and-greet session that they planned for the wrestling legend because he was too inebriated. Sources told TMZ that Hall had chances to sober up, but never did, and that he demanded to be paid for his appearance, despite not doing the gig he was asked to. Security had to step in and remove him from the premises.

"The event was too well run for us to make a fool of ourselves by allowing him to appear," event promoter Ricky Otazu told TMZ. "We will no longer be associated with him until he gets his life in order."

Hall's history with drug and alcohol abuse stems back several years, including a 2012 arrest for choking his girlfriend while drunk and a 10-day jail sentence for a 2010 DUI arrest.

ESPN's E:60 documented Hall's troubles during a 2011 report.

Roberts and DDP had an intervention with Hall two years ago.

And their efforts seemed to be working, as Hall got clean for the first time in years. That was documented by HBO Real Sports during the fall of 2013.
