Google is believed to be working on two new smartphones to be released this year. The smartphones dubbed Angler and Bullhead will be made by Huawei and LG, respectively.

Google usually launches just one flagship smartphone each year, which has made many smartphone enthusiasts complain about the lack of choice for new Nexus smartphones. However, this year may be a bit different as the company is expected to launch two new handsets in a year for the first time.

Android Police cites a reliable source who has claimed there might be two Nexus devices that Google will reveal in October this year.

"The source is reliable, and we believe the information to accurately represent the state of things in the very recent past," reported Android Police.

The LG Bullhead will sport a 5.2-inch display and a battery capacity in the range of 2,700 mAh. LG is also planning to include a Snapdragon 808 processor in the Bullhead, which is the same hexa-core chip that the company used in the LG G4. However, the battery capacity and the processor of the rumored smartphone are still under review by the handset maker. The LG Bullhead may become the successor of the Nexus 6, or the 2015 Nexus 5.

Rumors suggest that the speculated Huawei Angler will be a bigger Nexus device and will include a 5.7-inch display. A Snapdragon 810 processor may power this handset; however, this may change near the actual release of the smartphone. The Huawei Nexus is believed to have a bigger battery size of 3,500 mAh, which is slightly bigger than the 3,220 mAh battery of the existing Nexus 6.

The price of the upcoming Nexus smartphones remains unknown. Nexus 6 was expensive in comparison to previous Nexus handsets. The Nexus 5, made by LG and released in October 2013, was quite cheap. The 16GB version of the Nexus was available for $349 and the 32GB model of the phone was sold at $399.

Enthusiasts will hope that this year's Nexus smartphones will have an affordable price tag.

Nexus smartphones usually attract many customers. With two new models on offer, Google may attract even more customers and enable the company to grab a bigger chunk of the smartphone market.

However, rumors also suggest that the launch of two new smartphones in 2015 will mean that Google will not launch a new tablet this year.
