Watch what you post on social media. Colin Kaepernick clearly didn't — and he's apologizing for it.

In a totally poor judgment call, the San Francisco 49ers star quarterback used the hashtag #7StormsComing in an Instagram post Tuesday to warn Houston residents of both the deadly floods ravaging the city and the force of his 49ers in their first preseason game on August 15. The 7 is in reference to the jersey number he wears with the 49ers. (Shaking our heads).

Trivializing a real-life tragedy for a football game – a preseason one at that – come on, Colin! Receiving severe Internet backlash, the 49ers QB realized the errors of his ways and hopped back onto social media later that day – Twitter, this time – to say he was sorry.

Two hours later came another apology tweet.

This is the same Houston flooding that has claimed the lives of several people, with several others missing. It's so severe that Dwight Howard and Houston Rockets fans had to stay in the Toyota Center on Monday night through the early Tuesday morning hours to be safe.

The August 15 preseason game between the 49ers and Texans will take place in Houston, too. Kap clearly didn't think this through.
