Spoilers of any kind are a pain to deal with, but when it comes to The Walking Dead, it almost ruins the show. After all, the series has built a foundation on surprise twists and deaths that come out of no where - what's the point of watching if you know already what's going to happen?

If you need proof, just look at last year's mid-season finale: AMC itself accidentally spoiled the ending for its west coast viewers, and fans were outraged.

With the sixth season of The Walking Dead still months away, you'd think that spoilers would be scarce. After all, the show isn't on the air - how could spoilers possibly make their way online? Sure, Hollywood is known for leaks (just look at all of those Suicide Squad set photos), but AMC has always kept The Walking Dead's production a well-kept secret. What happened?

Well, according to some angry fans, Twitter is again to blame. Specifically, the Twitter account of Michael Cudlitz, otherwise known as Abraham Ford on the show.

According to these fans, one of the actor's latest tweets has spoiled a character's death from the currently unreleased season six...

If you saw the tweet in its original form, you'd be forgiven for wondering what all the fuss is about: at first glance, the tweet is nothing but one actor (Michael Cudlitz) talking about how nice it was to work with another actor (Josh McDermitt). For the most part, nothing seems wrong - but, for many fans, it's all about grammar.

Specifically, fans are stating that, because Cudlitz used the past tense in the original tweet, Josh McDermit's character (Eugene Porter) is doomed. Cudlitz's original tweet stated that "he did enjoy" working with Porter - as in, Porter is no longer on the show, as in his character died. It sounds like a stretch, sure - but there's arguably more evidence to support the theory.

Instead of denouncing the theory, Cudlitz actually changed the tweet:

Usually, this sort of misunderstanding would be addressed and then forgotten - however, Cudlitz changed the tweet and hasn't mentioned it since. Again, fans are taking this as proof that the tweet was indeed a spoiler, and that Eugene's fate is all but certain.

Is it possible that Cudlitz inadvertently spoiled one of the events from season six? Sure, it's possible - but it's not all that probable. In all likelihood, the tweet was worded strangely, fans noticed and it was changed - and, while it's entirely possible that Eugene could die during season six, his chances are probably just as good (or bad) as anyone else's.

Either way, it'll be some time before fans find out: The Walking Dead is set to return to AMC on October 7.
