There have been numerous leaks of Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S6 Active in recent weeks. Now, Samsung itself accidentally leaked the smartphone and its specs on its website.

Samsung has been keeping itself busy with releasing new smartphones, as it has once again reclaimed the number one spot in smartphone market share. The company's current flagship smartphone duo, the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, has been a hit with consumers and has been praised for the new metal and glass premium build, compared with last year's all plastic Galaxy S5.

Samsung is also busy with its Galaxy Note 4 successor, the Galaxy Note 5, which is expected to be unveiled at IFA in September. The company is also readying some new Galaxy S6 variants.

Additionally, we recently reported that a smartphone believed to be the Galaxy S6 Mini made an appearance on GFXBench, revealing many of the smartphone's specs.

The Galaxy S6 Mini isn't the only new S6 spinoff handset on the way. We reported that images of the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S6 Active recently leaked online, and now, Samsung has accidentally confirmed the smartphone's existence, its full specs and images on its U.S. website before quickly removing them.

Samsung's website confirmed that the Galaxy S6 Active will feature a 5.1-inch quad-HD 2560 by 1440 Super AMOLED display, which is the same resolution of the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, Note 4 and Note Edge. The smartphone will be powered by an octa-core Samsung Exynos 7420 processor and 3 GB of RAM. Just like the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, the S6 Active will not have a microSD expansion slot, and the device will ship with 32 GB of internal storage.

The Galaxy S6 Active's camera capabilities include a 16 megapixel rear camera and 5 megapixel front-facing camera for video chat and selfies. Since the S6 Active's claim to fame is its rugged build, the device will be IP68-certified dust- and water-resistant. It will run Android 5.0 Lollipop and ship with a non-removable 2,550 mAh battery.

The images of the Galaxy S6 Active Samsung posted before taking them down show the smartphone is headed to AT&T. There's no word on when the S6 Active will become official, but we'll keep our eyes on it for you and report back.
