Highly anticipated Fallout 4 will not be coming to the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, as revealed by the global community manager of Bethesda.

Video game titles that have also been released to the decade-old systems in addition to their more advanced counterparts, the Xbox One and the Playstation 4, have been severely limited by the performance limits of the older consoles. This is why there is not much of a shock that Fallout 4 will not be coming to these systems.

The lack of an Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 release for Fallout 4 could also mean that cross-generation support for the older consoles is soon coming to an end, as enough time has seemingly been given to Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 owners to upgrade their consoles into the latest versions.

The support for older consoles could abruptly stop upon the conclusion of E3 2015, as video game companies will reveal the possibilities if their focus will solely be on creating titles for the current-generation gaming systems.

While the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 represented a massive leap in technology compared to their predecessors, the technology now found within the gaming consoles are relatively ancient compared to the capabilities of the Xbox One and Playstation 4. Game developers are also not a fan of being limited in the design of titles by the capabilities of the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, and with Bethesda choosing to forgo support for these older consoles, the publisher can use the extra power provided by current-gen consoles in designing Fallout 4.

This is not mere speculation as well, as global community manager Matt Grandstaff posted in the Bethesda forums the confirmation.

"It is not coming to [Xbox] 360 and PS3, the stuff we're doing will never work there," posted gstaff.

This does not discount the possibility that another Fallout game could come to the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. There is the chance that a spinoff or another version of Fallout 4 could come to the older consoles, similar to what the Assassin's Creed franchise did when it released Assassin's Creed Rogue for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 and Assassin's Creed Unity for the Xbox One and Playstation 4 on the same day,

Bethesda released the announcement trailer for Fallout 4 last week, and it has already claimed a spot as one of the top selling titles on Steam. This is an amazing achievement and a nod to the immense popularity of the franchise, as there is almost nothing known about the title yet and it could take at least five months before it is released.
