Just when they thought they could close the case last week, episode 13 reveals that people are still going missing...

Meanwhile, Major found himself, in the words of series creator Rob Thomas, in "very hot water"—standing inside a freezer!

Although the body count does stack up in this season finale, boy! there sure were a lot of payoffs too!

SPOILERS below for those who have not yet seen the iZombie season finale: "Blaine's World."

First of all, we all knew Blaine was crazy. But in this episode, he gets really diabolical!

As if murdering teenagers weren't enough, Blaine goes full-on evil villain mode as he rhapsodizes just how evil he is with Major held in his freezer. He is building himself up to be the savior of the city, keeping the zombie apocalypse at bay with keeping Meat Cute serving up brains to feed them.

He's not quite liking the zombie life anymore so when opportunity came, he stabs Major, forcing Liv to reveal her secret and scratch the back of his neck as he lay dying so that he comes back.

Then she gives half a cure needle to Major and the other half to Blaine, losing her own chance to become human again.

This, we will see not too long after, may be a decision made too hastily.

Liv's brother just happened to show up to work for his first day at Meat Cute and walks in just when Lt. Suzuki blows up the place. Only Liv's blood can save his life, but she won't give it, knowing what it will do to him.

Meanwhile, Major's relationship with Liv is damaged because he cannot believe that she didn't trust him with her secret. He also tells her that if she really knew him, she would never have turned him into a zombie without his permission, cure or no cure.

According to the series creators, this story arc will play heavily into the second season of the show. How will the dynamics between Major and Liv change now that he knows she chows on brains? When will Liv be able to tell her family what she is?

Although she had to give up her one chance (for the moment) to be cured, it has been revealed that season two will have the team tracking down some missing utopium, which might allow Ravi to make more needles with the cure. So there's still hope!

And let's not forget evil baddie Blaine. He's going to be loving it as a human again. He just might run into some strange situations as he tries to pass for a zombie among his clientele. After all, he needs the zombies to stay scared of him in order to keep his business running smoothly.

Can't get enough of iZombie? We can't wait to see what happens when the series returns to The CW in fall!
