It was just supposed to be a way for a guy to prove to his girlfriend that he was at work. The photo he took of his workplace ended up revealing so much more.

Andrew Milburn was texting with his girlfriend, who asked for proof that he was at work on a Friday night. He was just about to start his shift at the Leeds General Infirmary in England, so he sent her a SnapChat image of the hospital's Clarendon Wing on the way to his office. At the time, he didn't realize that he had captured an image of something else: a ghostly figure of a girl in a dress entering a room.

"I have since put this picture on Facebook, it has received thousands of likes and comments and has been shared as far as America," said Milburn.

He added that the photo has also found its way to groups of paranormal investigators — many of whom are convinced that the picture is authentic. However, others are not convinced, with many users on Facebook claiming the image was photoshopped — something that Milburn denies.

Some commenters are suggesting the photo may have been taken with Ghost Capture, an app that lets users add a pre-existing image of a "ghost" to their photos. Milburn denies this as well, adding that he had always been a skeptic himself. He didn't believe in ghosts before — but he may have to change his mind after this experience.

That evening, Milburn had just come back to work after taking a break. He said the ghost girl appeared to be entering the area where the switchboard is located. He also added that a number of colleagues have reported hearing footsteps in the corridor when no one is present.

There have already been a few weird things happening at Leeds General Infirmary, but now after Milburn's SnapChat photo went viral, some people at the hospital are a bit scared, even to step out to the bathroom.

A similar case was reported in the Coventry Telegraph last year, when David Deakin snapped an eerie photo at the University Hospital in Walsgrave, England. The photo appears to be of a woman in a corridor of the hospital's maternity ward. Deakin encountered his own share of doubters, but he insists that he was alone and wouldn't do something as weird as taking a photo of a stranger in a hospital.
