If consumers liked the design and features of the HTC One M8 but thought the smartphone was rather large, they'll be happy to know the HTC One M8 Mini is heading to Verizon.

The HTC One M8 is off to a good start, the smartphone is offered by all four major U.S. carriers and reviews of the smartphone have been very positive. We had the chance to review the T-Mobile variant and came away with the feeling that it's currently the best smartphone on the market. The HTC One M8 receives major praise because of its high-end design, which features a brushed aluminum unibody case that not only looks great but also feels great in the hand. The handset might not appeal to users who prefer a more compact smartphone and HTC already has that area covered.

We previously reported that HTC was planning on releasing the HTC One M8 Mini at some point in May and now a new report claims the smartphone will be released on Verizon Wireless.

The always-reliable evleaks has once again shared some new information on an unannounced device. This time the tipster posted that the HTC One M8 Mini will be making its way to Verizon. While there wasn't any mention of when Verizon customers can expect to see the carrier offer the mini smartphone, multiple reports back up the original May release date.

The HTC One M8 Mini is expected to look nearly identical to its older sibling, which means it will feature anodized aluminum unibody exterior and front-facing dual stereo speakers. Some reports have claimed the smartphone will pack in a 4.5-inch 720p display and will be powered by a 1.4Ghz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and 1GB of RAM.

The handset will reportedly launch with Android 4.4.2 out of the box and HTC Sense 6.0. It's expected to include 16GB of internal storage and a microSD expansion slot that will support up to 64GB microSD cards. When it comes to the HTC One M8 Mini's camera capabilities, users should expect a 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front facing camera for video chat.

We'll keep our eye out for any new HTC One M8 Mini news and report back once we hear any more details.
