Sprint has decreased the on-contract price of the HTC One M9 flagship smartphone to only $99.99 with a two-year contract, compared to the previous on-contract price of $199.99.

The lower price will allow more customers to afford acquiring the HTC One M9, a smartphone that ships with Android Lollipop and the Sense 7.0 UI and is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor and 3GB worth of RAM. The device also features a 5-inch, 1080p display and BoomSound speakers, and comes in two color choices of either Gold-on-silver and Gunmetal grey.

The reduced price offer from Sprint only covers the price for the HTC One M9 on a two-year contract. The price of purchasing the smartphone from Sprint as an off-contract unit or through the Sprint Lease program has not been changed.

The offer presents a good deal for customers that may be looking for a new smartphone, as the HTC One M9 is definitely not a bad choice. Only Sprint is offering the discount, as the price of the smartphone remains $199.99 with a two-year contract under other carriers such as AT&T and Verizon.

The HTC One M9 has experienced certain issues in selected markets and territories, but the company has already released earlier in June a software update that will address the reported problems.

The update will solve issues with the camera of the HTC One M9, as users have been complaining about the subpar quality of the feature. The update will also improve the battery life of the device, along with the HTC One M9's heat management which should keep the smartphone's metal exterior cool even while charging the device or when using it for intensive tasks such as graphic-heavy games.

HTC also released another version of the smartphone, namely the HTC One M9+. The device has a 5.2-inch screen and is powered by a 2.2 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6795T processor and 3GB worth of RAM.

The smartphone will not officially be launched in the United States, but Amazon is selling the device for $799. The catch, however, is that the HTC One M9+ will not be compatible with the LTE networks found in the United States. The smartphone can be used with the 3G networks of AT&T and T-Mobile.
