This is a time of transition for TV, as season finales air and the summer TV season – in all its weird and wonderful glory – begins.

It's no different at HBO. The spring lineup of Game of Thrones, Veep and Silicon Valley finished their seasons on June 14. The cable channel then kicked its summer schedule into high gear the following week, with the highly anticipated Season 2 premiere of True Detective and the debut of two new series, Ballers and The Brink.

So far, the return of True Detective has gotten the most buzz out of the three. That's unsurprising, considering the success and critical acclaim of the first season — and all of the hype Season 2 received in the run-up to its premiere because of that. If you're interested in seeing what all the fuss is about, you can do so either by cable HBO or HBO Now, the new standalone streaming service. All of the shows in HBO's summer TV lineup are available for streaming on HBO Now right when they premiere and on-demand later.

One of HBO's more noteworthy pieces of original programming is the comedy special 7 Days in Hell, starring Andy Samberg and Kit Harrington. It will actually premiere on HBO Now and HBO Go first on July 8, three days before its official premiere on HBO.

And then, of course, there are also plenty of movies being added to HBO Now — ready for you to stream in July. These include everything from recently-in-theaters The Maze Runner (available July 18), the critically acclaimed biopic J. Edgar (available July 1) and the beloved rom-com My Big Fat Greek Wedding (available July 1).

As you can see, there's plenty coming to HBO Now to keep you entertained until August and maybe even until HBO's fall TV season begins. Check out the complete list of what's being added and what's leaving HBO Now in July below.
