Exciting news from the world of Daredevil: French actress Elodie Yung will play the dangerously enigmatic and alluring Elektra in Marvel's Daredevil season 2.

It's bye-bye Jennifer Garner who was Elektra in the 2003 Daredevil movie and the 2005 film Elektra. We sure like Jennifer but smoldering French lady Elodie will definitely add another dimension to the role of the beautiful professional assassin.

There was no physical appearance of Elektra in season 1, but she was mentioned when Matt told Foggy things "didn't work out" with a certain Greek girl. Elektra in the original Marvel comic books and in the movies was a favorite of the masses, so it's no wonder she will finally make her rightful appearance in the next season of the Netflix series.

The actress, who has starred in G.I. Joe: Retaliation, District 13: Ultimatum and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, seems tailor-made for the role. She is of French-Cambodian descent and comes with a background in karate. You just have to look at that chiseled face and those fiercely determined eyes and you are instantly convinced that this power lady will spell trouble for any man, Matt Murdock included. Let's watch how events unfold when Matt's past catches up with him in the shape of this fierce and beautiful assassin.

"After a worldwide search, we found in Elodie the perfect actress to embody both Elektra's impressive and deadly physicality, as well as her psychological complexity," Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb said.

Another character from the comic books that will be introduced in the next season is The Punisher Frank Castle who will be played by Jon Bernthal of The Walking Dead.

We are in for a treat—that much is for sure.

There is still enough time to watch all of Elodie's movies before season 2 rolls out and we get to marvel at her as Elektra. The much anticipated new season of Daredevil will stream on Netflix sometime in 2016.
