LG is looking to break into the tablet market with three new exciting tablets based on Android. The tablets comprise of a 7-inch, 8-inch, and 10.1-inch screens, which offers potential buyers a decent range of options.

The new devices are part of the company's G-Series line of tablets, and they are expected to be fully unveiled at the MedPI trade show in Monaco this week. These new devices are expected to expand LG's footprint in the tablet market significantly, though it is not certain when the company plans to make the tablets available for sale.

When it comes down to pricing, we cannot put a finger on it since LG has yet to reveal the costs. Furthermore, the company has also failed to reveal detailed specifications, though it is highly possible this information will be made available at MedPI.

All we know right now are the screen sizes and that each tablet will come with LG's proprietary Qpair 2.0 technology. This feature is designed to pair up communication features from phone to tablet.

As per LG, these new devices came about due to what customers told the company they were interested in. The new G-Series devices are designed for portability, and to target a range of audiences.

"Customers tell us that they want a wider range of devices that offer sizable screens without compromising portability," said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. "Unlike smartphones, tablets are not one size fits all. So we designed the G Pad Series for a diverse target audience, some who prioritize portability while others want the best multimedia experience possible. G Pad delivers on all counts."

It is great to see another big player stepping up the heat in the tablet market, since there hasn't been much activity in quite a while. Apple isn't ready yet to announce its new iPad, Google is probably holding out until its I/O conference, and rumors have it that Microsoft is planning to host an event on May 20.

Let's hope LG is in the mood to compete because the tablet market truly needs that one company that is capable of bringing some much needed competition to Apple.
