With the launch of Microsoft's new operating system, Windows 10, on July 29 beginning with users that signed up for the Windows Insider Program, it has been revealed that game streaming is now enabled for Xbox One gamers with a PC or tablet that will be powered by Windows 10.

In addition, in efforts to expand the Xbox Live experience to Windows 10, the Xbox App for the new operating system will be receiving an update to include several new and improved features.

The announcement was made by Larry Hryb, the Director of Programming for Xbox Live, through the official blog of Major Nelson, his alter ego.

In the blog post, Hryb wrote that the game streaming function for the Xbox One that was previously announced is now growing out of preview and is expanding to all Xbox One gamers with a Windows 10 PC or tablet. With this feature, gamers will be able to play their Xbox One games on their PCs and tablets even when they are not in front of their Xbox One consoles.

To activate the feature, users should go into the Settings menu of their Xbox One and then select Preferences. Users should then select the option to allow game streaming to other devices. In addition, the Xbox app's latest version should be installed on the PC or tablet.

Users should then access the Xbox app on the Windows 10 device and choose the Connect option and then add a device. The Xbox One consoles of the user should appear, and then a wired Xbox One controller should then be connected to the PC or tablet. Users should then go back to the Home page and choose an Xbox One game from the Recently Played menu to begin the streaming gaming session. Alternatively, and also to have complete control of the Xbox one console, users can select the console from the Game Streaming option in the Xbox app's home menu.

In addition to game streaming capabilities, the Windows 10 Xbox app will also receive upgrades to several features. One of these features, which will be found in the July release of the app, is a party chat option to allow several friends on their Xbox One or Xbox on Windows 10 to talk to each other.

The Xbox app will also feature additional customization options for a user's profile, an updated Xbox Avatars app, sharing of screenshots and video clips from Windows Store games on Xbox Live

Hryb added that there will be more news for the Xbox One coming in early August at gamescom, which would probably have something to do with more features compatible with the then-released Windows 10.
