The Moto Hint Bluetooth earbud headset was plagued with problems when Motorola introduced it last year, including poor sound quality and too-short battery life. One would think then that Motorola would be chomping at the bit to improve the device and get its second generation out in the market as quickly as possible.

Well, that may be exactly what Motorola has done. Best Buy has started to sell what appears to be an updated version of the Moto Hint, which now retails for $129.99 instead of the $149.99 the original model cost (that price has now been nearly sliced in half on Motorola's website, which is now selling it for $79.99).

The device also comes with some changes to the original model, including 17 hours of talk time instead of the original 10 hours, a 70 percent increase, and CrystalTalk noise-and-wind-canceling technology. Motorola is also touting ear gels with this new Moto Hint, which may provide a better fit.

Motorola's website currently still only shows the first-generation Moto Hint, so it's unclear why Best Buy seems to have a new version available on its website already. This news comes just before Motorola's event on July 28 where the company is rumored to be announcing new versions of the Moto X and Moto G smartphones. It's possible that Motorola could unveil this new version of the Moto Hint during this event as well.
