It's been nearly five months since Pebble started accepting pre-orders for its Pebble Time smartwatch on Kickstarter (bringing in $20 million in orders in the process), and a month since it opened up orders to anyone on its website, and it's now finally moving on to retail availability.

The company has confirmed that as of today, the watch will be available in Best Buy retail stores (as well as for order on the website, where it's also been available for pre-order for the past month). Target will apparently be the next in line, with availability there (both in-store and online) set to start the week of August 17th -- US-only in the case of both stores.

The Pebble Time, for those not up to speed, is the company's first smartwatch with a color display, although it's still not a touchscreen. The choice of a reflective-type display does mean that you'll still get battery life measured in weeks, not hours, though. As with orders direct from Pebble, the watch runs $99 and is available in your choice of red, whtie or black.  There's no word yet, however, on when the updated Pebble Time Steel will be available beyond the initial batch of Kickstarter orders.
