It's no secret that X-Files fans are excited for Fox's big upcoming revival. Ever since the network announced that its iconic sci-fi thriller series would be making a return in early 2016, fans have been clamoring for some sort of preview — and, while Fox has been more than happy to comply, it's not as if these sneak peeks are all that in-depth.

Case in point: Fox's latest X-Files teaser comes in at a whopping 10 seconds — technically speaking, it's 17 seconds if you include title cards and logos.

Let's put it this way: there's absolutely no chance that anything in the upcoming series will be spoiled if all of the teasers are only 10 seconds long. That being said, there's not much in the way of new information or story setup, either — in fact, aside from two lines of dialogue, there's not much of anything in the trailer, save for a few blurry shots of ... something.

It's perfectly fine for teasers to be vague and mysterious — they're called teasers for a reason — but how are fans supposed to get excited when this is all they get to see?

On top of all that, it's not as if this 10-second tease is anything new for the X-Files revival: so far, the most fans have seen have been a few seconds of footage attached to another promo or a picture of the series' two stars through a camera monitor. Technically speaking, the series hasn't even received its own full-sized trailer yet — something that most people would have expected to see by now.

True, it's hard to put much together when a series is filming, that's understandable — let's just hope that the teasers show off a little bit more as the series' premiere date approaches.

Speaking of the series premiere, you can expect The X-Files to return to Fox on Jan. 24, 2016.
