Old technology might make some nostalgic, but watching kids react to old gadgets is hilarious. In this video, kids react to the first iPod.

Apple launched its first-generation iPod back in 2001. These kids in the video weren't even born at the time. While those who are now adults went from listening to vinyl records to untangling cassettes with a pen to seeing the first iPod hit the scene, these kids were born with advanced technology surrounding them already. They have no recollection of dial-up internet, bulky music players, or huge mobile phones with monophonic ringtones and a tiny display with no colors.

Long before the iPhone revolutionized the mobile phone market, Apple launched its first-generation iPod, paving the way to a very lucrative business. The iPod lineup padded the company's pockets with more revenue than ever before, and launching a new iPod each year was enough to drive sales throughout all 12 months.

The first-generation iPod was not an instant hit, however, as it didn't see the tremendous sales of its successors. Nevertheless, it paved the way to iPod greatness and has its special place in the hall of fame.

As a reminder, the original iPod launched back in 2001 had no touch screen and no Wi-Fi connectivity. In fact, it didn't even have direct access to iTunes. The device came with 5GB of MP3 storage space and featured a scrollable wheel, sporting a price tag of $400 - huge price at the time.

Considering the specifications the first-generation iPod had - or didn't have - it's no wonder that kids are baffled when they see the gadget. Some recognize that it's an old iPod, others believe it's some sort of ancient phone, and their reactions are an odd mixture of awe, intrigue and a bit of disgust.

"It's like a cinder block!" one kid exclaims. "This iPod is soooo last week," says another. All of them are in a bit of a difficulty when asked how to turn on the old iPod, but they quickly find their way to "the middle button." The next challenge, however, is more difficult: playing a song.

"Oh my gosh, it's not a touch screen!!!" comes the first response. Eventually, the kids figure out how to play music only to be baffled by the fact that it doesn't have any speakers.

When told when this iPod made its debut, i.e. in 2001, kids react as if they heard about prehistoric times.

"I think that's when dinosaurs lived," says one kid. Another, meanwhile, believes that it's a little sad that at that time, everyone wanted one of this iPods. Other realized that it was "revolutionary" and "amazing" for people back then.

Lastly, when hearing about the $400 price tag, the reactions are on the same line: all kids are baffled as to why would someone spend this much money on something like that.
