NBC and Donald Trump are no longer in a working relationship after Trump made alleged racist remarks during a campaign speech. This means that Miss Universe and Miss USA will not be aired on NBC, and Trump will no longer host The Celebrity Apprentice.

NBC made a statement regarding the decision to drop Trump. From what the network is saying, it appears as if Trump chose to leave The Celebrity Apprentice after NBC did away with Miss USA and Miss Universe.

"To that end, the annual Miss USA and Miss Universe Pageants, which are part of a joint venture between NBC and Trump, will no longer air on NBC," the network stated. "In addition, as Mr. Trump has already indicated, he will not be participating in The Celebrity Apprentice on NBC. Celebrity Apprentice is licensed from Mark Burnett's United Artists Media Group and that relationship will continue."

It doesn't end there as Trump came out slamming NBC, saying the decision to drop Miss USA and Miss Universe stems from the fact that NBC did not want him to run for president of the United States. Furthermore, he said the network is only using his remarks to make the world believe he was fired.

"They did not want me to run. They wanted me to do The Apprentice. And now with my statements on immigration—which happen to be correct—they are going to take a different stance and that's OK. Whatever they want to do is OK with me," said Trump. "As far as ending the relationship, I have to do that because my view on immigration is much different than the people at NBC."

Since Univision and NBC have both walked away from the Miss USA and Miss Universe Pageants, it is not clear which network will host the show, but it must go on, so we are certain Trump will find a way to get it back on the air.

The decision to drop the pageants must have been a difficult one for NBC since the company was planning to renew its contract for another five years. The network hosted the pageants for 11 years before this scandal.
