A little competition never hurt, right?

The official gameplay trailer for Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 hit the Internet on Wednesday, Aug. 5, figuring to give FIFA 16 some legit competition in the soccer video game market.

With the billing "Love The Past, Play The Future," the action-packed gameplay trailer for PES 2016 celebrates the Konami title's 20-year anniversary with the help of worldwide soccer stars such as Brazil's Neymar Jr., who is shown dribbling between defenders with finesse and flair, and Spain's Alvaro Morata celebrating a thrilling game-winning goal.

Gamers can get their hands on the demo on PS4, PS3, XBox One and XBox 360 next Thursday, Aug. 13. PES 2016 is strategically scheduled for an official release on Sept. 15 — a week before FIFA 16's release on Sept. 22.

While the FIFA series might have gotten the edge over PES in recent years, a head-to-head comparison between the two recent games shows that PES 2016 might give FIFA 16 some heavy competition this fall, thanks to several noted improvements.

Updates include an enhanced collision system, impacting the results of certain players vying for possession of the ball. On the same path, gamers will be given more control over aerial duels and battles for headers in 50/50 situations.

One-on-one play has been revamped, giving gamers better control with improved dribbling skills and overall moves at their disposal, while players' artificial intelligence and defending has also been bolstered. Dynamic weather has been added to the game as well, affecting the way a ball is pitched during the rain.

Around mid-September, we're sure the gaming community will make clear which soccer title it enjoys the most, but PES 2016's gameplay does look crisp and exciting in this trailer.
