Google's Deep Dream experiment is certainly one of the more unusual pieces of recent internet phenomena. What started as an interesting AI research project that produced some decidedly psychedelic images quickly took a turn to even weirder and more unsettling territory as more and more people started to get their hands on the source code.

It also isn't showing many signs of fading away anytime soon. While there's already been some web and desktop apps released that can give your photos the Deep Dream treatment, it took until last week for the first mobile app to be made available.

Known as Dreamify, the app (not from Google itself, we should note) works much as you'd expect, letting you drop in one of your own photos and either choose from one of a number of preset parameters or make your own adjustments to produce an image that's as weird or unsettling as you'd like. You can then of course share it on the social network of your choice, and browse some of the creations that other users of the app have produced.

As of now, the app (which is free) is only available on Android devices, but an iOS version is said to be coming soon.
