Some lucky gamers in Japan are reportedly beta-testing the PlayStation 4 firmware update 3.0 as we speak. And they get to play with a lot of new features that we can't wait to see go live.

According to the Japanese website Pocketnews, as translated by Gematsu, the PS4 firmware update 3.0 will have the ability to upload clips to YouTube as well as Twitter (up to 10 seconds) and the ability to create sub-accounts with parental controls for kids, among many other updates.

The option to share screenshots and game clips to YouTube comes just in time as YouTube has announced the launch of its new gaming website, YouTube Gaming, to begin hosting gaming content this summer.

Although it is still unknown when PlayStation 4 3.0 will be released from beta testing and arrive stateside, the ability to share clips directly from PlayStation is sure to become a hit with the online video game sharing community.

The entire list of updates has been translated and posted on Gematsu, and it is quite comprehensive.

In addition to the social media screenshot and video sharing features, the new update will also include Events and Community options to the menu where users can participate in PlayStation events and discover other gamers nearby with similar interests.

Other new menu options will also include Now Playing, where users can see what games their network are currently playing and be able to form parties or start new games with them.

Under the Miscellaneous heading of the updates included in the beta is the addition of improved Parental Controls to create and control sub-accounts for young children as well as to restrict and block access to harmful websites (for an additional fee).

Although the complete list has yet to be confirmed by Sony, this slew of features gives gamers reassurance that the company has been listening to the clamor for a #BetterPSN following the launch of the PS4 firmware 2.5 earlier this year.
