Can Superman be beaten? According to Henry Cavill, such is the case, and he also went ahead and named the person who could bring the powerful Kryptonian to his very knees.

For those who might believe this person is Batman, think again. For those who might also believe Kryptonite could be used to utterly destroy the Man of Steel, we say, think again.

In fact, according to Cavill, only Superman can defeat Superman. We are inclined not to believe this due to past things that have happened in the comics. However, the actor does make sense in his view of the situation, but just a bit misguided.

"Superman is a complex dude. People think Kryptonite can beat him. No. The only thing that can really beat Superman is Superman. His own noggin messing with him. His own moral choices. When you have that to start with, the storytelling can really delve into something rich," according to Cavill.

In the past, Batman has taken Superman's butt to town on several occasion. Furthermore, Darkseid also caused tremendous damage to the Man of Steel, but we have to bear in mind that Darkseid has not yet been introduced into the DC Extended Universe.

One big question is whether or not Henry Cavill is interested in playing Superman for the next ten years or more. Clearly, this is a long term project, though it could all boil down to whether or not the DC Extended Universe turns out to be a success

"It's a wonderful role. There's a huge potential there for complex storytelling, and I'm looking forward to exploring those avenues."

We'll see Henry Cavill in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice come Mar. 25, 2016, Justice League: Part One, and possibly other films in the Universe.
