One of the 2015 Nexus smartphones is expected to come from LG, and some newly surfaced renders now offer a glimpse of what it could look like.

Google is reportedly working with both LG and Huawei for new-generation smartphones to launch this year, so if reports turn out to be accurate, we'll see two new Nexus smartphones in 2015. This would mark the first time Google releases two smartphones in one year, and things seem quite promising.

Huawei is reportedly making a 5.7-inch Nexus phablet, while LG will create a smaller 5.2-inch Nexus smartphone, unofficially dubbed the Nexus 5 2015. Some intriguing renders, as well as a video, now give us a look at the purported Nexus 5 2015 design.

The latest design leak surfaced courtesy of uSwitch, which teamed up with known tipster @OnLeaks of NoWhereElse.fr.

"The renders are based on detailed factory schematics provided to accessory-makers," according to uSwitch.

This is an important bit of information because although it doesn't guarantee that this is actually the final design of the 2015 LG Nexus smartphone, it does add more credibility.

Factory schematics are designed to ensure that accessories such as cases for an upcoming device are suitable for the actual device, accounting for all slots, buttons, openings and overall size. Consequently, these schematics have to be detailed and accurate, which in turn reveals information about the device itself.

Based on these renders, it seems that the LG Nexus 5 2015 will rock a fingerprint reader mounted just below the camera on its rear. The camera, meanwhile, seems to be protruding.

The renders further reveal stereo front speakers, which should allow for good audio, and seem to confirm the idea of a 5.2-inch display size. Toward the bottom at the USB cutout, the renders clearly show the distinctive shape of the USB Type-C connector.

When it comes to build material, many Nexus fans are hoping to see a full-metal body gracing the next-generation Google flagship. Upswitch is unsure of the build material LG will use for the new Nexus 5, so the renders only hint in this direction rather than actually depicting the device with a certain type of build. Some reports claim the LG Nexus 5 2015 will boast a full-metal body; others suggest that it will have a metal frame and a plastic body, but nothing is certain just yet.

Lastly, keep in mind that these renders are not showing the actual LG Nexus 5 2015. They just offer a glimpse of the smartphone's likely design based on factory schematics. That said, check out the video below to get a better look at the purported design of the upcoming Nexus smartphone from LG.
