Xbox One added the ability to stream games from console to a Windows 10 PC with the release of Microsoft's new OS on July 29, but now a new Xbox update will take that streaming to the next level.

As detailed by Microsoft's Major Nelson, an update to the Xbox app on Windows 10 will allow for users streaming from their Xbox One to their PC to stream at 1080p and 60fps thanks to the ability to select a new "very high" streaming quality. In the Xbox app, users simply have to go to settings>Game Streaming and set video encoding to very high.

The new streaming capabilities are the highlight of the August update, but there are a number of other smaller improvements being added as well. Players with a lot of friends (but not necessarily friends they want to play with) can now disable automatic party and multiplayer game invite notifications in the settings. Players can now more readily compare how they stack up against their friends in certain games by selecting the new Compare option on any Game Hub page.

The "Recently Played" portion of the app is being tweaked to show the last time you played a certain game, as well as the gamerscore you've earned from the title and the percentage of Achievements earned in the game.

A number of improvements to the "My Games" section are also being added to the Xbox app for Windows 10. Players can now sort all their games in a grid view alphabetically, with the ability to select a letter and collapse the list in order to more quickly find games. You can now also manually add PC games to your game collection from the Start menu.

Various other problems have been addressed as well, such issues revolving around game streaming and sign-in problems. Microsoft says the Xbox app should automatically update to the new version once it becomes available. You can check out all the additions in the video below.
