After five years of being married, celebrity couple Megan Fox (Transformers) and Brian Austin Green (Beverly Hills, 90210) are separating ways after the former filed for a divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split.

The couple was last seen in public together on June 9, 2015 in Beverly Hills. They have two kids in their marriage, Noah (2yrs. old) and Bodhi (18 months). Brian also has a 13 year-old son from a past relationship.

Now that they are divorced, the physical and legal custody of their two sons will be a joint effort, as requested by Fox.

In an interview with Men's Health last year, Fox talked about her marriage to Green.

"You can't live in a fantasyland and think that everything's going to be perfect all the time. You have two people, separate beings, trying to share one life together. That's always going to have difficulties."

It was back in 2014 when Fox and Green met while being on the set of the sitcom Hope & Faith by ABC. In 2006, they got engaged but had to call it off three years later. After getting engaged again in 2010, the couple finally got married in Hawaii on June 24 of the same year.

While both stars haven't talked publicly yet about the split, several sources have been speaking up on the possible reasons why they are separating.

"They fight about her career. He would prefer she focus on the family more than being obsessed with getting roles," said one source.

Another source said, "They will always love each other very much and are devoted to their kids. Anything could happen in the future, but for now they've decided it's best to take some time apart."

In the meantime, Green was spotted in public on Friday barely two days later after the news on their separation was revealed. He was seen filling up his SUV with gas at the gasoline station and seemed to have sparked the interest of many after they saw him still wearing his wedding band.

"They're on friendly terms for the sake of their children," said another source. "They just want to do their own things."
