With Metal Gear 5 Solid: The Phantom Pain poised for a Sep. 1 release, details of the games' hidden microtransactions have finally emerged.

While many gamers are against microtransactions in apps or games, they are becoming common place, giving advantage to players who are willing to shell out money to level up faster. Even though many gamers were anti-microstransactions for Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, Konami has gone ahead with the feature.

Now details of how much the microtransactions will cost have emerged online, revealing how much one will need to shell out for the Mother Base Coins i.e. MB Coins, which is the in-game currency.

Purchasing MB Coins will be a tad steep and range anywhere from $1.65 to $79.95 for 100 to 6,000 MB coins.

The information was first revealed on the Metal Gear Network and the details are as follows:

- 100 MB Coins will cost $1.65

- 550 MB Coins will cost $7.95

- 1150 MB Coins will cost $15.95

- 3500 MB Coins will cost $48.95

- 6000 MB Coins will cost $79.95

The pricing, however, is in New Zealand dollars and not USD. The information has now been updated on the New Zealand PlayStation Store.

For those wondering if MB coins are a necessity, The Phantom Pain's Forward Operating Bases or FOBs mode requires gamers to use MB coins to improve their personal base.

This mode lets a player take other gamers on in a head-to-head challenge and is essentially an extension that provides a player with additional staff and materials. While a player can earn coins via regular gameplay - details of which are unclear as of now - purchasing MB coins from the marketplace can hasten the process of progression in the game, which many lazy gamers may find appealing.

Even though Konami says that one can enjoy the FOBs mode sans shelling out extra dough, gamers would be tempted to advance or expand quickly and may fall for the bait. Would you be willing to buy MB coins to progress faster?
