Sony intends to wow at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2014, releasing a list of 70 games that the company will have on its booth at the show floor.

The company will host a three-day live broadcast starting Tuesday at 3PM EDT.

Sony is looking to build on the PlayStation 4's early success over Microsoft's Xbox One. A report released in April revealed that Sony has sold 7 million units of the PlayStation 4, while Microsoft has only shipped 5 million units to retailers, with how much of this figure being sold to consumers unspecified.

Microsoft, in a bid to make its sales more competitive with Sony's PlayStation 4 that is being sold for $399, has reduced the $499 price of the Xbox One to $399 by releasing a Kinect-less bundle.

At E3 2014, Sony intends to maintain the 4-3 rate of outselling Microsoft by sticking to their promise of the PlayStation 4 being primarily a gaming machine, with the 70 games to be showcased.

However,  there has been no truly compelling exclusive game for the PlayStation 4, and upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusives to be released in the holiday season is not that exciting. There is some hype surrounding Destiny by Halo developers Bungie Inc., but despite the company's partnership with Sony that would deliver extra content for the PlayStation 4 version of the game; it will still be available on the Xbox One. The Last of Us Remastered will be exclusive to the PlayStation 4, but it is just a remake of the PlayStation 3 hit with improved graphics.

It should be noted, however, that Sony has many high-caliber game studios on its side, so there should be some trailers that should be looked forward to, such as a better preview of Uncharted 4. Other Sony franchises could also be planning their transition into the PlayStation 4 console as well.

Sony also has a better working relationship with indie developers compared to Microsoft, which could lead to a wider variety of indie games coming to the PlayStation 4. An example would be Loadout by Edge of Reality, which will be released as a free-to-play exclusive for the PlayStation 4 later this year.

Some of the 70 games that will be showcased by Sony at the E3 include the aforementioned Destiny by Bungie, Disney Infinity 2.0: Marvel Super Heroes by Disney Interactive, Dynasty Warriors: Gundam Reborn by Bandai Namco Games, Guilty Gear Xrd by Aksys Games, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix by Square Enix, N++ by Metanet Software, Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty by Oddworld Inhabitants, Persona 4: Arena Ultimax by Atlus U.S.A., Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare by Electronic Arts, and Valiant Hearts by Ubisoft.
