The first part of the live-action Attack on Titan adaptation has yet to reach theaters outside of Japan, but that isn't stopping a trailer for Part Two of the film from spoiling many of the twists and turns to come.

Much of the footage featured in the trailer is stuff we've seen before. The Colossal Titan looming above the city walls. People looking up, screaming in despair as man-eating Titans run rampant. Hordes of Titans charging. Members of the Survey Corps zipping around on their 3D maneuver gear, swords drawn.

Around the halfway mark of the trailer is when the new footage drops, and it doesn't even attempt to disguise one of the film's (and anime's) biggest plot points.

Spoilers below! Turn back now!

It's a scene anybody who has read the manga or watched the Attack on Titan anime will remember: the moment Eren is gobbled up by a Titan, only to emerge from its belly later as a Titan himself.

In case it wasn't 100 percent clear what was happening, we then see scenes of Eren's military trial, where one character asks Eren "are you human or are you Titan?"

It seems a little silly to spoil the franchise's pivotal turning point in the film's trailer. Finally the humans have a way to fight back against the Titans, though nobody is really sure where exactly Eren's power comes from. Why spoil such a major moment?

Perhaps those making the trailer don't view it as much of a spoiler at all and assume everybody going to see the film has already watched the anime or read the manga? It's not a wrong assumption, to be sure: the vast majority of this film's audience will be those who love the other forms of the franchise.

But the film could even spoil the show for anime watchers as well. The Attack on Titan anime has not yet received a second season, meaning many of the show's greatest mysteries (the origin of the Titans, for example) are still unsolved. This trailer, however, claims that the live-action film will provide some answers, saying "all the puzzles will be solved."

If you are curious to learn the truth, the first part of the Attack on Titan film is in North American theaters September 30, October 1 and 7. Part two, subtitled "End of the World," will come to theaters shortly after on Oct. 20, 22 and 27.
