No one ever said the life of a robotic arm was going to fun or fulfilling. Look at this poor guy, doomed to a life of repetitive task limbo, pretending to fill up the empty ink reservoirs in this Epson EcoTank printer.

Granted, there's some dark existential details to grapple with when considered this disembodied arm's doomed existence, but the upshot is the ease of use it betrays. No more fussing with cartridges.

It's the sort of technology anyone who has owned a printer has dreamed of (the
EcoTank, not the robot arm), simply buying ink bottles and filling up the tanks, rather than dealing with the expense and environmental fallout of proprietary cartridges.

I asked an Epson rep why the company didn't release this technology years ago. He told me it had been kicking around for some time, but it was only just ready for release. Not a particularly satisfactory answer, but then, you can't always get what you want.
Just ask our friend, the repetitive robot arm.
