A new report claims to reveal some of the specs of Samsung's next-generation Galaxy Note 4 phablet. The smartphone will reportedly feature a QHD AMOLED display, Snapdragon 805 processor and 16-megapixel camera.

Samsung created the phablet category when it introduced the first-generation Galaxy Note in 2011 and, as of October 2013, the company has sold more than 50 million Galaxy Note smartphones. Samsung is widely expected to introduce the Galaxy Note 4 at IFA in Berlin in September and there's also talk that the company will use the event to launch its premium Galaxy S5 Prime or Galaxy F.

We just reported on leaked images of the Samsung Galaxy F / Galaxy S5 Prime, along with some of the smartphone's main features. One of the smartphone's most impressive specs is its 2560 x 1440 QHD display and now a new report claims that it won't be the only flagship Samsung smartphone to get this new high-resolution display.

According to a new report from SamMobile, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will feature a 2560 x 1440 QHD AMOLED display when it's officially announced. The site was not able to confirm the exact size of the display, but recent reports have suggested Samsung will use a 5.7-inch display, which is the same size found on the current Galaxy Note 3.

The site also claims that Samsung will release two Galaxy Note 4 variants and their main difference is the processor found inside to power the phablet. North America, Korea, China, and Japan will receive a model that is packing a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset. All other regions will receive a Galaxy Note 4 that is powered by an Exynos 5433 processor.

The publication goes on to say that the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will feature an upgraded 16-megapixel rear camera with OIS (optical image stabilization) manufactured by Sony. The phablet will also include the same 2-megapixel front facing camera that is currently used in the Galaxy S5. The smartphone is also reportedly going to feature the Galaxy S5's IP67 certification that will allow it to be both waterproof and dust-resistant.

As we get closer to September we should have a better idea of what to expect to see in the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, but for now it's best to take this report with a grain of salt.
