There's something to be said about great cosplay. While it's true that every fan shows off their dedication in different ways, seeing someone is an incredibly detailed costume that they made themselves is an entirely unique experience.

The best cosplay blend such a wide variety of different techniques together that anyone who dismisses cosplay as "nerdy stuff" is clearly missing the point. It's an art form, plain and simple.

Then, on top of that, you have the people who can conquer anything despite the hand that life has dealt them. Take 20-year-old Ben Carpenter, for instance: born with spinal muscular atrophy, Carpenter has used a wheelchair throughout his entire life. For many, this would be an impossible hindrance to overcome — Carpenter, on the other hand, used it as an opportunity to show just how much of a genius he really is.

By using his wheelchair (in a highly modified fashion), Carpenter has crafted one of the best Mad Max: Fury Road cosplay out there. It's not just a novel idea or a great costume, it's something that shows just how inventive Carpenter is:

It's not just the "Bloodbag-mobile" costume shown above, either: Carpenter also crafted the "Chariot" costume (which you can see below). Not only that, but he built the Chariot suit in just a few weeks. Most people have trouble sewing their own clothes when they start to fall apart, while Carpenter is modifying his wheelchair into a wasteland chariot all on his own. That's not just impressive, that's something that'll get you into Valhalla.

Mad Max: Fury Road was an amazing movie, to be sure — but most people probably never thought it would inspire anything quite as amazing as this.

Ben Carpenter: you have been witnessed.
