Andru Edwards, the host and editor-in-chief of YouTube channel Gear Live, was able to get hold of the new fourth-generation Apple TV and uploaded the device's unboxing to the video sharing website.

The unboxing video of the Apple TV with Siri Remote, which has become a part of the Unboxing Live series, appears to be the first one uploaded online and provides a look at the new packaging for the new device.

The Apple TV will not be arriving in October, but Edwards was able to acquire the device on the Hey Siri event of Apple that was held on Sept. 9.

The new packaging for the Apple TV is an all-black one, featuring an image of the device at the box's top. Upon opening the box, the user will immediately see the Apple TV and the Siri Remote, with the Lightning cable for charging the remote and the power cable tucked underneath the two devices. These four components are the only contents of the Apple TV box.

All components are wrapped in protective plastic, with the sides of the Apple TV featuring another layer of plastic covering its ports, namely a power cord outlet, an HDMI port, an Ethernet port and a USB-C port.

The Siri Remote, on the other hand, was made of metal, contrary to the cheap and plastic-like feel of the device during the Hey Siri event. The remote features a Siri button, the Home button, volume buttons and a play/pause button.

The Apple TV has been tagged as Apple's gaming console, due to the focus on gaming by the device. The Siri Remote has an accelerometer, gyroscope and touchscreen, which will allow for motion-based games. Apple TV has also already acquired a major exclusive title in Beat Sports, which is a rhythm game developed by the makers of Guitar Hero and Rock Band.

The Apple TV is already drawing comparisons with Nintendo's Wii and Wii u consoles due to these similarities, along with the focus on casual gaming. However, it would take a lot more for Apple to be able to compete with long-standing gaming companies such as Nintendo.

The new Apple TV is being prepared to be released into the market at the end of October. The 32GB model will carry a price tag of $149.99 and the 64GB model will carry a price tag of $199.99.
