After coming up with three films in the Taken trilogy, Hollywood has come up with the great idea to turn it into a franchise by milking it on the small screen. The thing is, would a Taken TV show be a good idea?

A new report has claimed that EuropaCorp. and Universal TV is teaming up to bring forth a Taken series to the small screen. As expected, Liam Neeson will have no part in the series, so already we have fewer reasons to watch it.

From what we've come to understand, the plan is to introduce a younger version of Bryan Mills. As we all know, Neeson played the older version of Mills on the big screen.

Now, as to what the storyline is about, we have no idea, but we're guessing it would have to do with someone being kidnaped, and Mills would then be called in for the rescue.

We're still trying to wrap out heads around the idea of a Taken series on TV. You know, we do not believe this is going to work because the face that made the movies so popular will not be involved.

This trend of turning movies into TV shows is going to transform into a huge disaster because most films are not fit for TV. Some folks might mention Hannibal, but we say, it is easy to see why it blended so well with the small screen.

Hannibal is strong in story and characters; we can't say the same about Taken. A series like that would have to introduce a riveting story and several exciting characters. Let's face it, the movies had none of that and it worked well because each film is less than two hours long and everything must be condensed to fit into that timeframe.

All in all, we'd probably still watch a Taken series on the small screen. We can only hope that it doesn't turn out to become a steaming pile of rotten eggs.

If everything goes according to plan, Taken the series will air on NBC.
