Microsoft released a system update meant for users of the last generation Xbox 360 console.

The latest update features an added storage of 1GB which now makes the Xbox 360 to have a total cloud storage of up to 2GB. With the extra free storage, players can now easily store more of their favorite stuff and manage their data. They can also use the increased storage space in sending game saves for Xbox One Compatible games which can then be played with an Xbox One console, feature well also known as 'backward compatibility'.

The update would also mean that players who have an existing save data on the Xbox 360 will be able to resume their gaming progress on the Xbox One so long as the games are supported. This can be done by pulling their saves from the cloud storage.

Apart from the increased cloud storage feature, the latest update will now make it easier for players to connect their Xbox 360 console to a network that would usually require them to first accept the stated conditions under Terms of Use. This means that they can now use their consoles in public venues such as hospitals, hotels, restaurants and more.

"After first connecting you will be prompted to test your Xbox Live connection and will then be directed to use Internet Explorer to login to the network. You must have the latest update of Internet Explorer first," the blog states.

Other notable features brought by the update include the ability to redeem an Xbox Live Marketplace code from messages by simply pressing "Redeem Code." This enhanced activity allows players to like, comment, send new messages, view game clips and screenshots, share activities of friends and even view the games that they're playing; the ability to access one's music from Groove Music and one's movie and TV collection from Microsoft Movies & TV; and the ability to view one's account balance in Microsoft at times when the player is browsing the marketplace or looking into the details of a game.

The latest firmware update is now available as a free download for all users of Xbox 360.
