One of the most exciting parts about all of the new VR releases coming out in the future are all of the new capabilities for gaming. But as we look forward to the future of gaming, Oculus wants us to not forget about the past either.

Oculus announced the launch of Oculus Arcade for the new Gear VR during its Oculus Connect 2 press conference Thursday. Oculus Arcade will transport players back in time and allow them to experience more than 20 classic arcade games from Sega, Warner Bros. Midway and Bandai Namco in a virtual arcade setting.

When Oculus Arcade launches later this year, some of the titles that will be available include Sonic the Hedgehog, Gauntlet, Spy Hunter and Pac-Man.

Oculus Arcade will be available on the new $99 consumer-edition Gear VR that will also feature such made-for-VR games as Land's End by UsTwo, Gunjack by CCP Games and Smash Hit by Mediocre. The new Gear VR will be available in the United States in November.
