Apple may have a strong presence in the market, but Google is not going to let itself get left behind the tablet scene, introducing worthy contender Google Pixel C. While other popular brand names such as Kindle have made their marks in the industry, Google hopes to redefine the competition.

Apple's iPad Pro is definitely a tough competitor, but Pixel C seems to be a suitable rival for the current powerhouse. Let's examine both devices to get a better idea.

First off, let's start with the operating systems (OS). Pixel C will be running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, offering what will be the latest Android version to date as well as a range of nifty functionalities, particularly the new Doze function, which significantly saves battery power. The iPad Pro will come with the iOS 9 with a lot of new updates, notably the overhauled Notes app that allows users to sketch in addition to taking notes.

In terms of the displays, the Pixel-branded tablet will offer a 10.2-inch screen, doling out a 2560 x 1800 resolution with 308 ppi along with 500 nits of brightness and sRGB color gamut. On the other hand, the Apple tablet will come with a 12.9-inch screen with 264 ppi on a 2732 x 2048 resolution. While Google Pixel C wins in the ppi department, the iPad Pro makes up for it with its larger screen.

Both devices will have smart keyboards. Pixel C's super-slim keyboard will be like a laptop's keyboard, maintaining regular-sized keys, and it costs $150. It has a two-month battery life, and it can be charged wirelessly when it's attached to the tablet via magnet. Conversely, iPad Pro will have Apple's Smart Keyboard, a detachable keyboard that functions as a cover as well, and it's priced at $169. Made with polyurethane material, it won't damage the iPad Pro's screen when it's closed.

Pixel C will also support USB-C, which means that data transfer and charging will be quick, whereas iPad Pro will sport Apple's Lightning connector.

Lastly, the Pixel C is equipped with Nvidia's latest chip the Nvidia Tegra X1. Supported by a Maxwell GPU along with a 3 GB RAM, Pixel C will be able to process commands at an incredible rate, meaning that running multiple apps at the same time and gaming are easy tasks for the Android Tablet. Apple also didn't hold back regarding speed, as it is fitted with a new A9X processor with an M9 coprocessor, allowing users to run multiple heavy apps on it, not to mention that Apple had Adobe editing software in mind for iPad Pro.

Pixel C 32 GB is said to cost $499 and the 64 GB version for $599. The iPad Pro costs $799 for the 32 GB, $949 for the 128 GB and the cellular model 128 GB at $1079. The Apple tablet is available in silver, gold and space gray.
