Better late than never.

Gran Turismo 6 hit stores back in December 2013. Nearly two years later, the title is getting a free app—the GT6 Course Maker—to let its gamers' imaginations run wild.

The GT6 Course Maker—hitting iOS and Android on Wednesday afternoon (September 30)—will allow drivers to customize everything from the shape of the track to banking on the corners and road width, as well as allowing them to place buildings and trees strategically around the course, as reported by IGN. The regions chosen for the Course Maker customization are the Eifel, Andalusia, and Death Valley, also according to IGN.

Once a track is finished being customized, it gets saved to your PSN account, where the tracks are available for test drives or for use in Arcade Mode or the game's online live events. Customized tracks can even be shared with your friends.

Gran Turismo 6, which is widely regarded to be one of the more authentic racing games in recent memory, still plays fresh nearly two years later. However, adding the ability to customize tracks, via the Custom Maker app, will only add another dimension to this popular title and perhaps extend its longevity amongst its car enthusiast fan base. That especially bodes true for drivers who have excelled in the game and are looking for new challenges.

Building an ultra-difficult track and still being able to hit every corner with speed and precision would leave you the Gran Turismo 6 champ. Rev up your engines to that.
