The upcoming James Bond film, "Spectre," has cost more than $300 million and the filming involved wrecking about $34 million worth of cars.

The last James Bond film, "Skyfall," was released in October 2012. Bond films are highly anticipated by many movie lovers and "Spectre" is no different. It will be the fourth film in which Daniel Craig will be playing Agent 007.

Just like previous Bond films, "Spectre" also promises a lot of action surrounding James Bond. Gary Powell, the stunt coordinator of the film, says  "Spectre" has made a record in smashing cars.

One car chase scene was shot in Rome where 007 is driving his Aston Martin, with a villain in hot pursuit. The scene shows the Aston Martin crashing and colliding with the villain's Jaguar C-X75 supercar, resulting in both cars being totaled.

"We set the record for smashing up cars on 'Spectre.' In Rome, we wrecked millions of pounds worth. They were going into the Vatican at top speeds of 110 mph. We shot one entire night for four seconds of film," says Powell.

In one of the action scenes, an airplane crashes on a barn and destroys the villain's Land Rover to ashes, while the British spy walks away unscathed.

Ten specially-designed Aston Martin DB10s equipped with an ejector seat were made for the most expensive James Bond film ever. However, only three of the cars survived the filming while the rest have been written off.

Audiences in the UK will be the first to watch "Spectre," the world premiere of which will be held on Oct. 26 in London. James Bond fans in the United States and other parts of the world will have to wait for 10 more days as the movie will be released outside the UK on Nov. 6.
