Auli'i Cravalho is living the life that little girls have always dreamed of.

No, it's not a magical castle with flying unicorns, but close enough.

It's a sweeping adventure about a spirited teenager who sets out on a mission to conclude her ancestors' unfinished quest and prove herself as a master wayfinder.

Cravalho is the voice of the newest Disney princess Moana.

The 14-year-old Native Hawaiian was chosen out of thousands of girls who tried out for the role. She was the very last girl who auditioned on the last day of casting, said casting director Rachel Sutton.

The "Moana" team decided on a creative way to break the exciting news to Cravalho. The best part, however, is that they captured it on video.

Cravalho was notified as regards an "online callback session" with the team. The panel included producer Osnat Shurer, and co-directors Ron Clements and John Musker. Clements and Musker are known for the Disney hits Aladdin, The Little Mermaid and The Princess and the Frog.

During the "online callback session" the panel asked Cravalho to do more adlibs for the role. Unbeknownst to Cravalho, she had already been chosen for the role, and that in the next few minutes, her life would never be the same.

"They tricked me," Cravalho shared. "That was sneaky."

"They made her do a couple more things, and then she actually received the news that she was Moana," explained Puanani Cravalho, mother of Auli'i.

Auli'i was in tears and immediately called her mom, who was at work during the time

"It's such a blessing," Puanani added. "It's real. Yes, Auli'i. You're Moana."

"Moana," the 56th film in the Disney animated feature canon, sails into U.S. theaters in Nov. 23, 2016.

The plot dates back to 3,000 years ago when "the greatest sailors in the world voyaged across the vast South Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, for a millennium, their voyages stopped – and no one today knows why."

Joining Moana in her adventure is the mythic Maui, voiced by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
