Fans of Bungie's Destiny: The Taken King has a reason to celebrate—Bungie has rolled out update 2.0.1 for the video game, bringing with it quite a few modifications.

Bungie was taken offline for around two hours on Tuesday, Oct. 13. The moment the game was already accessible, at 11 a.m. Pacific Time, players were treated with the many changes the Destiny patch 2.0.1 brought about, including microtransactions, nerfed shotguns and more.

Microtransactions

The addition of microtransactions is deemed as one of the biggest and most notable modifications to the video game.

Vendor Tess Everis has returned to the Tower with the new Eververse Trading Company to sell emotes that can be bought using a new currency—Silver.

Silver can be bought from console stores to purchase emotes for characters. However, players need to fork out actual currency to acquire Silver. Interestingly, gamers can get free Silver by simply logging in between now and the end of December.

"In fact, if you’re a player of Destiny, you’ll have some Silver in your account when Eververse Trading opens their new shop," Bungie notes in a blog post. "If you appear in the game between now and December, you’ll get even more Silver."

Players will need to burn $19.99 for 2,300 Silvers to be used in buying new emotes.

"Purchase 2000 Destiny Silver and receive 300 bonus Destiny Silver, an in-game currency you can use in Destiny to buy goods for your character in the Eververse Store," says the PlayStation Store.

Players may likewise opt to shell out $9.99 for 1,100 Destiny Silvers and $4.99 for 500.

Shot Package Perks Removal

The update 2.0.1 comes with the removal of the Shot Package perks from all Shotguns.

The Return of Lord Saladin

The update includes the return of Lord Saladin from hiatus, bringing new wares for Iron Banner challengers.

It is worth noting that new emblems have been included into the inventory of Lord Saladin.

Armor

With the latest update, gamers can now reroll Stat nodes as well as Upgrade nodes on Exotic armor with the use of a new Twist Fate node.

In addition, Twist Fate will need Armor materials, Glimmer as well as a Glass Needle, which will be available from Xur when he appears in the game weekly.

Technical

Bungie fixed an array of situations which previously resulted in the game client crashing. This includes the Firefly as well as Ward of Dawn crashes. Moreover, Bungie also repaired on a few issues where the game's audio would drop.

More information on the update, along with the full patch notes, can be obtained from Bungie's website.
