The release of Halo 5: Guardians is fast approaching, and to help hold fans over, Microsoft and 343 Industries have put the entire Halo 5 original soundtrack on SoundCloud for your listening pleasure.

It features 39 different tracks, with the length of each piece varying from barely over a minute to almost nine. The opening track, "Halo Canticles," starts with the familiar chant of monks before transforming into a solemn, almost sad piece. From there, the soundtrack picks up the pace with "Light is Green" before moving into a wide variety of triumphant, electronic and moody tracks. You can listen to the soundtrack at the bottom of this post.

In case you are worried about spoilers in the track names, don't be. 343 Industries knows Halo fans are serious when it comes to the franchise's campaign mode, so it definitely doesn't want the game's plot revealed in such a lackluster way. Each of the track names is short, simple and ultimately unrevealing. You can listen to the soundtrack to your heart's content without having to worry about accidentally spoiling a major moment from the game. After listening, it's hard not to be excited for the game's release.

Music has always been an important part of Halo. Martin O'Donnell's score for Halo 1, 2, 3 and Reach are among some of the most iconic video game soundtracks of all time. Now that the franchise is under the stewardship of 343 Industries, new talent has become responsible for crafting the music that accompanies the Master Chief's new journey. As we saw in Halo 4, it's definitely different from O'Donnell's work, though there are similarities between the two that longtime Halo fans will latch onto. Halo 5's score is composed by Kazuma Jinnouchi. It will ultimately be up to fans to decide how they think the latest soundtrack stacks up to previous entries, but it certainly sounds promising.

Halo 5: Guardians releases for the Xbox One on Oct. 27. Microsoft will be holding a digital midnight event for the game on Oct. 26 via YouTube, which will include never-before-seen gameplay footage, interviews with the developers and more.
