HTC just announced its midrange HTC One A9 and is selling the unlocked 32 GB smartphone for $399.99 in the U.S. Those looking for an even better deal can score the unlocked flagship and more powerful 32 GB HTC One M9 for $379.99 for a limited time.

It's no secret that HTC has been struggling in the smartphone market for the last couple of years and has had a hard time convincing smartphone fans to choose one of its handsets over popular smartphones like Apple's iPhone 6 and 6s and Samsung's Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.

HTC's 2015 flagship smartphone, the HTC One M9, has failed to attract customers, and in an effort to ease shareholders' doubts, HTC announced a few months ago it was planning to release a new "hero" smartphone before the end of the year.

That "hero" device actually turned out to be the midrange HTC One A9 and not the high-end HTC O2, which many were hoping for.

HTC just took the wraps off of the HTC One A9, and judging from its midrange specs and price, many may want to consider purchasing the more powerful and feature-rich HTC One M9.

A new deal from eBay is offering the 32 GB factory unlocked HTC One M9 for $379.99, which is actually cheaper than the unlocked One A9, which is priced at $399.

Here's a quick run-down on why the HTC One M9 is still a better option than the HTC One A9.

The HTC One M9 ships with Android 5.1 Lollipop but has already been confirmed to receive an update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, while the One A9 ships with Marshmallow out of the box. The HTC One M9 and A9 both feature five-inch 1920 by 1080 Full HD displays and 4 megapixel front-facing cameras.

Now, let's take a look at the differences and why the HTC One M9 is a better choice over the One A9.

The One M9 is packing a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, while the One A9 is using a less powerful Snapdragon 617 chip. The One M9 includes 3 GB of RAM, while the One A9 either ships with 2 GB or 3 GB of RAM, depending on which model you choose.

The HTC One M9 blows away the One A9 in the rear camera department by boasting a 20.7 megapixel rear camera compared with the One A9's 13 megapixel rear shooter. The HTC One M9 also ships with a much larger 2,840 mAh battery compared with the One A9's 2,150 mAh battery.

If you're interested in picking up the more powerful and less expensive factory unlocked HTC One M9, head over to eBay, where you can score the smartphone for $379.99 for a limited time.
