ZTE has updated the Nubia Z9 Max and the Nubia Z9 Mini with the new Elite edition. The refreshed smartphones will have some improved features but majority of the specs remains unchanged.

ZTE launched the Nubia Z9 Max and the Nubia Z9 Mini in March and released the handsets in April this year. Promotional flyers of the Nubia Z9 Max Elite and Nubia Z9 Mini Elite have emerged online courtesy of a Chinese website called MyDrivers.

Although ZTE has launched the Elite versions of the Nubia Z9 Max and the Nubia Z9 Mini, customers will not find a lot of differences in the old and new variants of the smartphones.

The refreshed smartphone will still have a 5.5-inch touchscreen with 1,920 x 1,080 pixels resolution. Just like the Nubia Z9 Max, the Elite model of smartphone will also have a Qualcomm Xiaolong 810 processor, 3GB of RAM, 16MP primary camera, 8MP front-facing camera, 16GB of on-board storage expandable to 128GB with a microSD card and a 2,900 mAh battery.

ZTE has only made minor hardware changes to the Nubia Z9 Mini Elite. The original version of the handset had 2GB of RAM but the refreshed iteration comes with 3GB of RAM. The new Nubia Z9 Mini Elite has a few new software features when compared to its predecessor.

The Nubia Z9 Mini Elite will still sport a 5-inch screen with a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. The Qualcomm Xiaolong 615 chipset, 16MP rear-facing camera, an 8MP front-facing camera, internal storage of 16GB that is expandable to up to 128GB with a microSD card and a 2,900 mAh battery is present in both the old and refreshed Nubia Z9 Mini.

ZTE has not yet confirmed a launch date for both the new mobile phones but with the leaked promotional flyers, customers can hope that the company unveils the Nubia Z9 Max Elite and Nubia Z9 Mini Elite sooner rather than later.
