Android Fake Call Detection Targets AI Deepfakes: RCS Handshake Verifies Caller Devices

Android fake call detection, now rolling out to Pixel and Android 12 devices, uses an end-to-end encrypted RCS handshake to verify whether a call from a saved contact is actually coming from that person's phone — warning users when AI voice-cloning scams spoof a trusted number. The June 2026 Feature Drop also adds passkey-portable Credential Exchange Standard support and Google Photos Digital Wardrobe.
