A few days ago, T-Mobile launched a new offer for the Google Pixel that took aim at Verizon. The promotion allowed customers to enjoy bill credit worth $325, which is half of the total price of the 32 GB version of the smartphone, if they would take an unlocked version of the device and sign up with T-Mobile.

The promotion was a shot at Verizon, which is the exclusive carrier for the Google Pixel. T-Mobile found a way to work around the exclusive status of its rival, showing that customers are not forced to purchase the Google Pixel from Verizon and use it on the carrier's network.

The downside of T-Mobile's offer, however, is that it will only work when customers connect the Google Pixel with the carrier's latest plan, the T-Mobile One. Launched in August, T-Mobile One comes with unlimited calls, unlimited text messages and unlimited 4G LTE data, though users may experience slower 4G LTE speeds upon exceeding over 26 GB of consumed data in a month.

An updated version of the press release that announced T-Mobile's Google Pixel offer, however, revealed that the carrier is extending the promotion to subscribers who have decided to keep the company's previously offered Simple Choice Unlimited plan, which had been replaced by the T-Mobile One.

News regarding the expansion of the Google Pixel offer by T-Mobile started circulating on Reddit before the carrier decided to update its press release to confirm the move. It seemed that T-Mobile's decision is being met with great interest, as there is a long list of users on the thread asking around if they qualify for the promotion with their Simple Choice Unlimited plans and suggesting that they will indeed be availing the offer if they are eligible.

For Simple Choice Unlimited subscribers, they will need to do the same thing as the T-Mobile One subscribers to avail the $325 credit for the Google Pixel. First, they would have to purchase an unlocked version of the smartphone from Google or from any retailer, and then access the validation website of T-Mobile with the promo code PIXEL. Customers will then need to show their proof of purchase within the next 30 days.

The credit will not be given as a one-time amount though. T-Mobile will be sending the user $13.55 of bill credits for the next 24 months, which add up to $325.

Verizon has since responded to T-Mobile's original offer with a trade-in promotion that can result in a $300 discount for the Google Pixel or the Google Pixel XL. With T-Mobile's offer expanding to Simple Choice Unlimited subscribers though, Verizon might have to do more than offer a trade-in discount to fight back.
