Render images of the Huawei Mate 10 Pro have leaked via trusted tipster Evan Blass, revealing the phone's 18:9 edge-to-edge display, fingerprint sensor, dual cameras by Leica, and funky colors.

Huawei Mate 10 Pro Leaked

Blass revealed in September that there will be three Mate 10 models: a standard variant, a Pro, and a Lite. The newly leaked images line up with what he has written about the Pro version last month.

He reported that the Mate 10 Pro, codenamed "Blanc," will have an 18:9 aspect ratio with edge-to-edge properties. That seems to be the incase indeed, with the render showing a gorgeous bezel-less display. It remains uncertain whether or not the glass is curved on the sides a la Galaxy phones.

The 20-megapixel/12-megapixel dual cameras on the back are arranged vertically, similar to the Mate 9 and Mate 9 Pro, but the design is a bit different. They're located inside what appears to be a partial strip of material on the back, and this seems to be one element that's causing divide. Some call it gorgeous, while some call it ugly and unusual. In all fairness, Blass thinks that "you can't really tell until you hold it in your hand."

Blass also added a close-up shot of the camera modules, revealing that one camera has an aperture of f/1.6, similar to the LG V30. If true, literally only these phones have cameras with that aperture configuration — the widest ever on smartphones.

Not to be left out is the front-facing 8-megapixel camera, which should be decent enough for selfies. It's not too dramatic like the OnePlus 3T's 16-megapixel front-facing shooter, though. It'll probably take decent shots, but Huawei definitely won't market it as a selfie phone anytime soon.

As for the colors, the phone will come in dark blue, black, and brown. Pricing and release date remain unannounced, but make sure to check out Huawei's full unveiling on Oct. 16.

Huawei Mate 10 Lineup

The three new Mate 10 phones are a direct response to Apple's latest iPhone lineup, teased as "real AI" phones shortly after Apple's unveiling. What "real AI" means is still unclear, but these phones could come powered with an advanced digital assistant with artificial intelligence prowess, or something along those lines.

Huawei teased the phone Friday, Sept. 28, claiming it "sees," "learns," and "thinks" like real humans. It also called it "an intelligent machine." The video is filled with buzzwords to glean anything concrete from, though, so make sure to wait for Oct. 16 instead to find out the nitty-gritty details.
